This space started out particularly challenging from a design perspective. Previously, this room was closed off and led to the main entryway. The stairs to the second level were located further to the left and contained bookcases under it that really made the space feel closed off. It appeared really dark. We first started by opening up the wall where the fireplace was previously and moved the stairs further to the right. The bookcases were removed and opened up to what is now the living space. This allowed a larger sized dining table to be placed here for entertaining which was the main focus of this area. Can you believe how much the space appears to be bigger? The grand stairway was further amplified by adding in a beautiful glamorous chandelier at the top along with beautiful gold and white marble flooring. Now that's what we love to call a transformation!
